Pinterest Challenge Accepted!

My friend, Val, a.k.a One Sassy Housewife, put out a challenge a few days ago. It involves using some inspiration from a site called Pinterest. Haven't heard of it? Well, it has become sort of a time-sucking rabbit hole for me and I've noticed lots of other people that I know lately who've jumped into it. Well, Valerie suggested that we stop doing so much "pinning" and start actually crafting!

I've used some ideas in my bedroom redo, but that room isn't nearly finished and I have taken a break from it.

So... here are some of the ideas that I have in the works or REALLY want to try.

1. Harry Potter inspired Lightning Bolt toddler shirt for d.
2. Apple Pie Caramel Apple for friends :)
3. Felt Leaf Garland for fallish decor
4. Freezer Stenciled word pillows for the couch or bedroom.
5. Black and White Wreath. I'll embellish with orange for fall.
6. Mercury Glass Lamp DIY SO want to do this for my bedroom.
She gave a deadline of September 30th. So, hopefully I'll actually be back soon with another blog post to show something actually completed! :)

Calling ALL Bakers!

Anyone interested in baking for the Love Wins Ministry for December, please keep reading! I need YOU, to help me with a big task of baking for a WHOLE LOT of gifts. We'd like to make a box of baked goodies for each of 40 ladies and maybe a tray for each club to set on the bar. This is where your help would be appreciated... I'd love to have 10-15 people each make 4 dozen of one kind of treat. I'd like each person to make a different type of treat. (hunks of fudge, peanut butter blossoms, baggies of choc. covered pretzels, any type of Christmas treat or cookie or bar.) We need 4 dozen of each treat so that we can make a nice, full box for each lady.
Please individually wrap 40 items and put the remaining ones in a separate container.
All baked goods need to be delivered to the Miller house no later than Wednesday December 17th. We'll package all of the treats on December 18th and the delivery date for December will be the 19th.
Please leave a comment below with what you'd like to bring.
Thanks so much for your help!

Chocolate Dipped Strawberries

I just have to say that I LOVE chocolate dipped strawberries!

Jaymie and I delivered gifts to the clubs again last Friday. We took chocolate dipped strawberries. They were a hit! Sarah and Aaron Holmes are definitely pros at making them. I didn't have the pleasure of eating any this time, but I have had that pleasure many times when they have made them in the past. I know that Aaron has his specific methods and that he spent some time coaching Sarah the night before so that they would be just perfect! And they totally were! Sarah did great! Lots of ladies and a couple of gentlemen enjoyed them and oohed and aahed over them while we were there.

Do you have a FAVORITE chocolate treat?

Favorite Gift

My favorite gift ever was a framed piece of poetry that my husband, Donnie had written. He actually gave it to me when we were still dating. I think we were celebrating an anniversary. It could have been the anniversary of our first date. Actually, on Monday it will have been 10 years since that night.
This man is a person who is Jesus to me. What I first noticed about him was his compassion for others. I was impressed by how he had gotten a call from someone in our class who had car trouble, and went to help, even though he was pressed for time with practice and studies. And no, he wasn't doing it because he was trying to get a date with anyone! He is also passionate about following Christ. He wants God's best for his life and for others around him. Lots of people have told me that they feel like they can ask Donnie any kind of question and he doesn't make them feel stupid. He is a really good teacher, too.
